Patrick’s journey as a drummer and percussionist began in rural Ontario, Canada, where he would spend his days exploring sound and rhythm, fascinated by the rhythms of Funk, Jazz, and Blues. At 17, Patrick attended Berklee College of Music, where he received a full scholarship studying Jazz Composition and Drumset Performance. He then traveled to Senegal, West Africa, with his mentor and griot musician, Lamine Touré, to learn the ancient drumming traditions of the Sabar. After several trips to West Africa, including Benin, Togo, and Senegal, Patrick deepened his musical roots, and this is when his unique voice and musicality really began to shine through. Patrick has performed, recorded, and collaborated with artists such as Bootsy Collins, Alejandro Sanz, A.R. Rahman, Esperanza Spalding, Antonio Sanchez, Danilo Perez, Women of the World, Peia, and Dustin Thomas.
